Therapy

We provide evidence-based interventions for Dyslexia and language-learning disorders. Treatment is designed to meet your child’s unique needs with ongoing progress monitoring of the student’s response to treatment. We have specialized training in multimodal explicit, systematic programs recommended for reading, spelling, written expression, and executive functioning. These techniques are evidence-based, guided, and supported by research. With knowledge of dyslexia and related issues, we can create individualized goals and treatment plans for each student.

SPELL-Links to Reading and Write

SPELL-Links has much in common with commercial OG-based programs — explicit, systematic, cumulative, multimodal, structured literacy — it also has a unique program philosophy that aligns with the most current research and provides many distinctive advantages for learners.

SPELL-Links uses a speech-to-print approach that leverages the brain’s innate biological wiring and organization for oral language. Unlike other reading programs, which begin with the written letter and teach students to match the letter to a sound, SPELL-Links first helps students learn how to attend to the sound structure of spoken English words and then how to connect and combine sounds (phonology), letter patterns (orthography), and meanings (morphology/semantics) to read and spell words. This is exactly how the brain works in good readers and writers!

Students also develop meta-linguistic abilities and build executive function proficiency. This empowers them to apply their word study knowledge, skills, and strategies to successfully, independently read, write, and spell every day, not just during the classroom lesson or on the weekly test.

Multimodal Reading, Writing/Grammar, and Spelling

In addition to SPELL-Links, we implement Multimodal Reading, Writing/Grammar, and Spelling, another intervention method used for adolescents and adults with Dyslexia or related language learning difference. Developed by the Neuhaus Education Center, SQ Wrtie, Multimodal Reading, Writing/Grammar, and spelling is an explicit, sequential, comprehensive, and intensive literacy instructional framework.

Advocacy & Collaboration

It takes a team approach to have the greatest impact on your child’s success. We will consult and collaborate with your child’s educational team members to support the development of an appropriate Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and 504 accommodations and/or modifications. In addition, we offer specialized assistance by providing children, parents, and educators with informative resources such as recommended books, research literature, websites, events, and technologies to enhance learning and knowledge across all team members, including the child.

Assistive Technology

Identifying appropriate technologies to support your child with their learning disability can be overwhelming with the vast number of technologies available and the constantly evolving landscape. Therefore, when appropriate, We assist in matching your child’s needs with the most suitable and accessible technology to support their success.

Online or In Person

Our structured Literacy and Dyslexia Intervention is explicit, systematic, cumulative, multimodal, and structured literacy that aligns with current research principles. Students use manipulatives to actively engage in discovery during learning and use paper and pencil for written work. Our interventionists can also provide remote control access to students as they manipulate aspects of the online application and program. Maintaining the integrity of structured literacy and current evidence-based practices is vital to All Things Reading, regardless of the geographic distance students have with their intervention.
